Voice, Instrumental Involvement, & Album Art

SONG POEMS

Step 1.  Teacher sets assignment for students to each write at least one poem about something important to them.  They are told that each one will be put to music.

Step 2.  The DBLF players take 2-3 months to make music for each poem.  The quantity of songs seems to increase each year.  For the seventh year, 2015 Song Poems, there were 78 submissions.  All were recorded and can be found on their Band Camp site.  An interesting side note:  Each song is recorded exactly as written without edits to misspellings and punctuation.  Check them out!

The Aroostook War, A Musical

The Aroostook War is a work inspired by teacher {and fellow DBLF Player, Bill A.  One day in history class, while discussing the very odd war of Aroostook, the class was inspired to create and write their own musical for the DBLF Players to create music to.  The result was a witty and amusing work ready for the stage and shows what can result for good ol fashioned high school inspiration and team work.

PROPELLER PROJECT

This is an ongoing series of albums I make for friends.  I make the album art and create the theme and titles to hopefully inspire songs/music to follow.  It's the "Which comes first - the Chicken or the Egg" of musical projects!  You can read more about the Propeller Project here.
