We are still watching Dark Shadows. I am happy to report that Victoria Winters has returned to the present of 1966. (FINALLY!) She had spent the last few months in a place we were very tired of, 1796. The last season has been very dark (and long) - Witch trials, curses, ghosts, a duel, a couple murders, and the curse of a vampire… Now that she’s back, things will start to get really interesting.
The other day we watched as Barnabus Collins (a vampire) killed the Reverend Trask (an asshole) by immurement… In his own basement! I now know that Dark Shadows has worked its way into my brain because the first thing I thought of when seeing this Richard Scarry illustration (now edited) is the murder of Trask.
“Whoa. Is he going to leave him in the wall? Daaarrrrrk.” My eleven year old asked as someone handed me the mother-of-the-year award.
“Yeah, like the Cask of Amontillado right?? Super dark. Ugh… Buuuuttt…”
“He totally had it coming.” We both say at the same time.
Living in isolation may be affecting us strangely…
